Checks of system of ignition and injection

GENERAL INFORMATION

General check of system of ignition

Special devices are necessary for systematic search and elimination of malfunctions. These devices, as a rule, are available on HUNDRED. Therefore only the main checks here are described:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check tension and a condition of a charge of the storage battery, thus address to subsection Check of the storage battery.
2. Check all safety locks.
3. Rasstykuyte and again join all shtekerny connections relating to an electronic control system of the engine. Check the provision of shtekerny connections and fixing of cables in an impellent compartment.
4. Check reliability of connections with weight.
5. Check tightness of hoses and pipelines. Pay attention to damage of hoses. Fix unreliably joined connections.
6. Check all high-voltage wires on reliability of landing. The damaged isolation can lead to spark breakdown on weight.
7. On inside of a cover of the distributor of the engine with working volume of 1.6 l there can be leakages of a high voltage. They can be revealed on thin black lines between contacts.
8. To check, whether tension or a current moves on ignition system, follow mentioned below recommendations, but we will notice that current existence not necessarily means existence of sufficient tension.
Check of giving of a current

The voltmeter is necessary for check:

The Bo-first, check the corresponding safety lock (No. 32).
Engines of 1.6 l
9. Remove the tip from the target cascade of system of ignition near the ignition coil.
10. Connect the voltmeter between contact 1 positive and contact 3 (weight).
11. Include ignition and check that the voltmeter shows tension close to tension of the storage battery. If it not so, check a wire up to the switch (lock) of ignition.
The engine of 1.8 l without a turbokompressor
12. Uncover in the middle of the engine and disconnect the tip from the target (terminal) cascade.
13. Connect the voltmeter to the average plug 4а and to "weight". Include ignition. Tension should correspond to tension of the storage battery approximately. If it not so, check a wire up to the ignition switch.
The engine of 1.8 l with a turbokompressor
14. Make the same with that difference that the voltmeter should be connected between contact of a black (dark blue) wire and a brown (yellow) wire. Results of measurements should be same, as well as at the ordinary engine without a turbokompressor.
Check of the coil (coils) of ignition

For different engines it is necessary to perform different operations.
Engine of 1.6 l
15. First of all it is necessary to check appearance of the coil of ignition. At the fused coil the melted weight for coil filling sometimes can act.
16. The ohmmeter is necessary for measurement with possibility of measurement of high resistance.
17. Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire from connection.
18. Measure by an ohmmeter resistance between plugs 1 and 15. Измеряемется resistance of primary winding which should be 0.5–1.5 Ohm.
19. Connect an ohmmeter between plugs 15 and 4. Measured resistance of a secondary winding should make 5–9 kiloohms.
20. If the specified sizes of resistance do not correspond measured, it is necessary to replace the ignition coil. It is also possible to check the coil of ignition and in a workshop.
The engine of 1.8 l without a turbokompressor

At this engine of the coil of ignition and the target cascade are connected with each other. Only rough check in the assumption is possible that tension is submitted (a cover of the engine is removed):
21. Disconnect all tips from injectors.
22. Disconnect the tip from the target cascade and connect a verifying lamp to one of external contacts and to "weight". Turn the engine a starter and check, that the lamp blinked.
23. Carry out the same check on other contact. The lamp should blink again.
24. If blinkings it is not observed, malfunction can be in the following details:

– Connections of wires;
– Control unit;
– Sensors.
25. For replacement it is necessary to check system in a workshop to establish the exact reason.
The engine of 1.8 l with a turbokompressor

At this engine again check ignition coils (check of the target cascade is carried out separately).
26. Disconnect all tips from injectors. If at check of giving of a current and tension it is established that one candle does not work, it is necessary to trade places ignition coils. If the spark does not become on other candle, the coil is faulty. Completely to make sure of it, it is necessary to connect a spark plug to other coil since the candle also can have damage.
27. If now there is no result, disconnect the tip of the corresponding cylinder and measure tension between contacts. For this purpose connect the voltmeter between both external contacts of the tip and include ignition. The voltmeter should show tension of the storage battery. If it not so, is available a rupture of a power-supply circuit to the tip.
28. Connect a control (verifying) lamp to contacts 2 and 3 tips and include ignition and a starter. If the lamp does not blink, it is necessary to check all system in a workshop.
Check of the switchboard of ignition

At engines 1.8л without a turbokompressor the switchboard was already checked together with ignition coils. At other engines check is made separately.
Engine of 1.6 l

The switchboard is near the ignition coil. For check make the following:
29. Remove the tip from the target cascade and connect the voltmeter between plugs 2 and 3
30. Turn the engine a starter and check, that the voltmeter showed tension not less than 2 Century.
31. If it not a hook, is necessary to replace together the coil of ignition and the target cascade, previously having checked them in a workshop.
The engine of 1.8 l with a turbokompressor

Connection of the switchboard of system of ignition is carried out by two tips which are checked differently. One tip has 5 contacts, another 4 contacts. They are established at the left and on the right on the switchboard.
32. Disconnect tips from all injectors.
33. Oтсоедините the 4-contact tip from the target cascade (under a cover of the case of the air filter). Contacts of the tip are located one after another from left to right. Connect one wire of a light-emitting diode sampler to "weight".
34. Other wire of a sampler consistently connect to contacts 1, 2, 3 and 4 tips, including thus a starter. At all checks the light-emitting diode should blink. If it not so, are malfunctions. Thrust the tip into place.
35. Remove the 5-contact tip. Contacts of the tip settle down one after another from left to right.
36. A free wire of a light-emitting diode sampler consistently connect to contacts 1, 2, 4 and 5, including thus a starter (contact 3 in the tip plays a "weight" role). The light-emitting diode at these four checks should blink. It means that the entrance signal arrives on the switchboard.
37. If the described check yielded negative result, it is necessary to replace the switchboard.
Check of the sensor of the Hall

As it was already specified, the Hall sensor at engines of 1.8 l is on the forward party of a head of cylinders, is direct over a gear belt. At normal work the electronic control system of the engine determines by a signal from the Hall sensor the ignition moment for the first cylinder. If the signal does not arrive, cylinders cannot long work with detonation adjustment. In this case the system of adjustment of a detonation does not work, the ignition moment is late a little to prevent a detonation. To check the Hall sensor, it is necessary to operate as follows:
38. Disconnect tips of injectors.
39. Having removed a protective cover of a gear belt, it is possible to see the Hall sensor. The tip is below. Extend the rubber plug on the tip of the sensor of the Hall back (the tip remains put on the sensor).
40. Connect a light-emitting diode sampler of tension to contacts 1 and 2 from the back party. For this purpose contacts are marked on the back party of the tip in figures. Include a starter for some seconds. At every second turn of the engine the light-emitting diode should flash for short time.
41. Remove the tip from the sensor of the Hall and include ignition.
42. Connect the voltmeter between contacts 1 and 3 tips. Value of tension should be 4.5 – 5.5 Century.
43. Now connect the voltmeter between contacts 2 and 3 tips. Tension should make 4.3 – 5.2 Century.
44. If values of tension correspond specified, but the light-emitting diode blinks, it is necessary to replace the Hall sensor. If values of the measured tension do not correspond specified, malfunction in connections of wires. Eliminate in a workshop.
Check of the sensor of turns of the engine

The sensor of number of turns is over a gear wreath of a flywheel. The ohmmeter is necessary for its check.
45. Disconnect the tip from the sensor of number of turns (the gray tip).
46. On inside of the tip connect an ohmmeter to contacts 1 and 2 (No. 1 – at the left). Value of resistance should be 480–1000 Ohm. If the measured resistance leaves out of these limits, it is necessary replace the sensor.
47. If resistance corresponds to norm, connect an ohmmeter between contacts 1 and 3 and between contacts 2 and 3. The ohmmeter should show infinity, otherwise replace the sensor.
48. If all details are serviceable, there can be a wire break.

Check of the sensor of a detonation

On the engine of 1.6 l only one sensor of a detonation is established. Electric check of this sensor is impossible. Malfunction can determine by a way of poll of memory of the device of diagnostics with use of special devices. Tips are behind a broad tank of system of cooling and can be checked on existence of corrosion or other external damages. All other works make in a workshop.
