Compression check in engine cylinders

GENERAL INFORMATION

The compression provides guidance on an engine condition. Results of check show, whether it is necessary to replace the engine on new or he demands a complete repair. For carrying out check it is required компрессометр.

The difference in pressure between separate cylinders should not exceed 3.0 bar. If one or several cylinders have the pressure different from pressure in other cylinders more, than upon 3.0 bar, it indicates existence of a leakage of sealing laying of a head of cylinders, damage of valves, wear of piston rings or a working surface of cylinders. If a limit of wear will reach, it is necessary to repair or replace the engine.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. For compression check the temperature of impellent oil should be not less +30°С. Thus the oil filter has palm temperature. If the temperature is lower specified, the engine is necessary for warming up. The temperature of the engine should not be too high, otherwise at a reversing of spark plugs the carving in a head of cylinders can be damaged.

2. Switch off ignition.

3. Remove all spark plugs.

4. Take out a safety lock of the fuel pump.

5. Engines of 1.6 l: Rasstykuyte I will corrode injectors at both external cylinders.

6. Engines 1.6: Rasstykuyte I will corrode a target step of ignition. The target step is included between a monitor and ignition coils.

7. Turn the engine a starter to throw out a deposit and soot.

ATTENTION

Establish RKPP in neutral situation and tighten the parking brake.
At a provorachivaniye of the engine be not declined over it. There is a danger of a travmirovaniye as a result of soot emission.

8. Screw or press компрессометр in one of openings under a spark plug.

9. Ask the assistant to press a pedal of gas and to hold her in such situation during all check.

10. Turn the engine approximately on 8 turns so that the measuring device did not show more pressure jumps.

11. Check one after another all cylinders and compare the received values to demanded value.

12. Upon termination of work establish to the place of a spark plug.

13. Join again the socket of a target step (engines of 1.6 l).

14. Engines of 1.6 l: Join shtekerny connections at external injectors.

ATTENTION

Owing to undocking of shtekerny connections in a monitor the engine malfunctions can register. It is recommended, as soon as possible to remove them on HUNDRED AUDIS.
