Check of the fuel pump

GENERAL INFORMATION

The fuel pump is in a fuel tank.
ATTENTION

Do not use near a workplace open fire, do not smoke and do not hold any strongly warmed up subjects. There is a danger of accident! Keep in readiness the fire extinguisher.
Watch normal ventilation of a workplace. Fuel pairs are poisonous.
The fuel system is under pressure. When opening system fuel can escape under pressure. Collect fuel a rag. Use goggles.



Check conditions: The storage battery should be completely charged, tension should not be less than 11.5 Century.

CHECK OF GIVING OF TENSION

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check a safety lock No. 28 of the fuel pump. Replace a faulty safety lock.
2. Quickly include a starter. The fuel pump should earn that is short-term (about 1 c) should be audible. At high level of surrounding noise it is possible to ask to listen the assistant.
3. If the pump does not work, attach remote control.
4. Press the switch of remote control. If now the pump works, check the relay of the fuel pump.

If the pump does not work, it is necessary to operate as follows:
5. Cast away a back seat and unscrew a cover of the sensor of a reserve and the fuel pump.
6. Rasstykuyte I will corrode the sensor of a reserve and the fuel pump.
7. Attach to both external contacts of the tip a diode control lamp or the voltmeter.
8. Include remote control. The measuring device should show tension of the storage battery (about 12 In), otherwise is the wire breakage which should be revealed by means of an electric circuit and to eliminate.
9. If the device shows tension of the storage battery, remove the sensor of a reserve of fuel.
10. Check, whether the flange and the fuel pump are connected by electric wires and whether there is a good contact of connection. Check an ohmmeter and auxiliary wires, whether there is no wire breakage between the case of the sensor and the fuel pump and if necessary eliminate damage.
11. If break is not present, replace the fuel pump.
12. Establish the fuel pump and the reserve sensor, attach electric wires.

CHECK OF PRODUCTIVITY OF THE PUMP

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover a fuel tank for removal of pressure of fuel.

ATTENTION

The fuel system is under pressure! Before opening of shlangovy connections put on it a thick rag. Then carefully open a hose and remove pressure. Use thus goggles.


2. Disconnect a hose of return of fuel at the fuel distributive highway for what press the button of release of quick disconnect connection. 1–pipeline of supply of fuel.
3. Attach an auxiliary hose with an intermediate element to the pipeline of return of fuel from the engine and lower it in measuring capacity.
4. Attach the voltmeter to the storage battery.
5. Press during 15 about the switch of remote control. Thus consider displayed tension of the battery and write down it.
6. Compare productivity of the pump to demanded value on the chart.

Example: During check tension of the battery makes 12.5 V.Tak kak tension on the fuel pump on 2 In less, than tension of the battery, tension on the fuel pump makes 10.5 In (12.5-2 = 10.5). To this tension there corresponds productivity of the pump about 130 cm3/15 of page.

7. If supply voltage as it should be, and productivity after all is small, check, whether there are no damages of fuel pipelines or whether they are littered.
8. Check, whether the fuel filter is littered. For this purpose repeat productivity check with the new fuel filter.
9. If nevertheless the minimum productivity is not reached, remove the block of supply of fuel and check, whether the filter grid is littered. If necessary clear a grid.
10. If malfunction is not found, check the return valve of the fuel pump (work HUNDRED).

ATTENTION

If the minimum productivity is reached, but malfunction existence in supply of fuel, nevertheless, is supposed (for example, a periodic stop of giving), check the ampermeter current consumption by the pump. Demanded value: Max. 8 A.Esli a current more, replace the fuel pump.
At periodic interruptions in work of fuel system it is possible to inspect at car movement. For this purpose the assistant is required.


11. Remove remote control and insert into place a safety lock No. 28.
12. Screw a cover of a fuel tank.
13. Put into place a back seat.
