Diagnostics of electric components and reading of codes of malfunctions

GENERAL INFORMATION


The system of electronic control by transmission consists of the control unit (TSM) located under a back seat, electromagnets of management, various sensors and sensors switches.

If TSM reveals malfunctions in management chains, it bring them in memory. For reading of codes the electronic tester of VAG 1551 with VAG 1551/3 adapter is used.

Remark: All information on reading of codes contains in a tester.

Alternatively detection of malfunctions can be made by a way of measurement of values of resistance and tension by means of VAG 1598/18 tester (Address to tables).

Check of tension is made without shutdown of the storage battery, - the tester is connected to TSM and its electroconducting. At check of resistance disconnect a negative wire from the battery and connect a tester to a plait of electroconducting of TSM. TSM leave disconnected.

At detection of malfunction it is necessary to make repair of electroconducting or the corresponding element of a chain.
If actually TSM everything is all right is therefore damaged.
