Replacement of brake liquid


The demanded special tool:

– A cap key for an otvorachivaniye of the union of removal of air.
– A transparent plastic hose in internal diameter of 6 mm and capacity for collecting brake liquid.


The brake liquid which was in the use repeatedly do not apply.

Observe precautionary measures at work with brake liquid, thus address to subsection Brake liquid.

Brake liquid through a time of brake hoses and a ventilating opening of the tank absorbs moisture. Thereof the temperature of boiling of liquid in use decreases. At big load of brakes it can lead even to steam formation that reduces efficiency of action of brakes.

Brake liquid owes each 2 years, it is desirable in the spring, to be replaced with the new. At frequent movement in the mountain district, it is necessary to replace liquid more often.

On HUNDRED air from brake system, as a rule, is removed on the special device. However it is possible to do it and without use of the specified device. Thus the brake system is pumped over by a brake pedal. For this purpose participation of the assistant is required.


If in the course of air removal from brake system liquid level sharply decreases, occurs подсос the air getting to the pump ABS. In this case removal of air is necessary for making on HUNDRED with use of the special device. At replacement of any brake hose it is also necessary to remove air from system on HUNDRED. While it is not made, to use the car it is impossible.

Sequence of removal of air:

1. Support the back right
2. Cуппорт the back left
3. Support the forward right
4. Cуппорт the forward left

1. Mark a felt-tip pen level of brake liquid on the tank. After replacement of liquid restore former level. Thus, system overflow by liquid will be excluded at replacement of brake shoes.
2. Unscrew a stopper of the tank of brake liquid.


It is not obviously possible to suck away brake liquid from the tank by means of one bottle as in a jellied branch pipe there is rigidly built in grid.

3. Cars with RKPP: As the drive of coupling works at brake liquid, remove air from a coupling drive, thus address to subsection air Removal from hydrosystem of a drive of coupling.


At air removal from the working cylinder of a drive of coupling not less than 100 cm3 (0.1 l) brake liquid should be extorted to replace liquid with the new.

4. Fill the tank with new brake liquid to MAX mark.
5. Carefully open unions for air removal, without turning on them. It is recommended unions in 2 hours prior to removal of air to spray means for rust removal. If unions do not turn away, it is recommended to execute this operation on HUNDRED.
6. Put on the union of the right back support a pure transparent hose and substitute the corresponding capacity. For possibility of access to the union it is necessary either to remove a wheel or to lift the car or to establish it over a viewing hole.
7. Establish RKPP in neutral situation, tighten the parking brake. Start the engine and let's to it work on single turns.
8. Ask the assistant to press several times a brake pedal, having created pressure in system. Hold a pedal of the pressed. A cap key 1 open the union for air removal on the right back support. Close the union when the pedal will rest against a floor. Remove a foot from a pedal.
9. Cars with RKPP: At the working engine brake liquid extort until it in the tank will not reach level of a connecting branch pipe of a drive of coupling (shooter). Do not allow big decrease in level of liquid, differently via the tank air can get to system. Surely add in system only new liquid.
10. Close the union.
11. Cars with RKPP: As the drive of coupling works at brake liquid, remove from a drive air, thus address to subsection air Removal from hydrosystem of a drive of coupling.


For replacement of brake liquid in a coupling drive from the hydrocylinder of a drive it is necessary to pump out not less than 100 cm3 (0.1 l).

12. Fill the tank with new brake liquid to MAX mark.
13. Pump out old brake liquid from other supports in sequence – back right, back left, forward right, forward left.


Flowing-down brake liquid should be pure and not contain air vials. From each support about 250 cm3 of liquid should be pumped out.

14. Press a brake pedal and check a free wheeling. It should not exceed 1/3 courses of a pedal.
15. Fill in brake liquid in the tank to earlier existing level.
16. Screw on the tank a stopper.
Attention, inspect reliability:

– Whether brake pipelines and hoses are fixed?
– Whether there are brake hoses in holders?
– Whether unions of removal of air are tightened?
– Whether liquid enough is filled in in system?
17. On the working engine check tightness of system. For this purpose about 10 times press a brake pedal with effort of 200-300 N (there correspond 20-30 kg). The pedal of a brake should not leave back. Check on tightness all connections.
18. In summary check action of brakes on the road with not heavy traffic of transport. For this purpose it is necessary to make not less than one strong braking, having checked ABS action (a sign of work of ABS the pulsation of a pedal of a brake is when braking).


Watch transport going following of your car. The effect of action of ABS is best of all shown on an unpaved road.

It is not necessary to pour out brake liquid together with a household waste or somewhere in other place. Local authorities should inform on points of reception of brake liquid.
