| 1. Through the intervals of a time/distance in kilometers defined by Specifications check of level of transmission liquid should be made. Make this procedure only after achievement by the engine specified below temperature. |
| 2. Level of transmission oil in a transmission of automatic transmission depends on temperature of transmission oil. Usually level remains to constants if it is not visible places of leaks. In that case there is no need for check of level of oil. It is recommended to perform this work at AUDI service station. |
| 3. Before the beginning of work get the transmission liquid specified in the subsection Current leaving and service, and also new consolidation of a carving stopper and a new safety cap for a stopper. At check of level and replacement of oil it is necessary to use goggles. |
| 4. Others necessary for carrying out this procedure by tools are support for car fixing in the lifted condition, drain capacity in volume not less than 4-5 liters, newspapers and pure rags. |
ATTENTION At the transmission not filled with oil to start the engine it is not allowed. Also without ATF oil car towage is not allowed.
At work it is necessary to watch purity observance as even insignificant pollution result in malfunctions in AT work carefully.

| 5. To Poddomkratta the car and reliably establish it on support. |
ATTENTION The temperature of transmission oil at control of level should not be higher + 30°С. This temperature is reached after short operation of the engine. HUNDRED AUDIS for control of temperature attach the diagnostic device. Without use of this device the temperature can be estimated only approximately.

| 6. At ATF oil check its temperature should not be higher +30°С. |
| 7. The selector of switching of modes should be in the situation "R", the conditioner and heating should be switched off. |
| 8. Substitute capacity for collecting ATF oil. Turn out a stopper (the shooter on an accompanying illustration). The oil being in a perelivny pipe, will drip. |
| 9. Cut through бокорезами a sealing ring at a carving stopper and replace it. |
| 10. Start the engine and let's to it work so that the temperature of oil reached +35°С. |
11. If in a range of temperatures +35°С and +45°С oil follows from a perelivny pipe, oil level in norm. In this case screw a stopper with new laying and tighten the moment of 15 N of m.
If oil does not follow, add ATF. |
| Check of a condition of oil |
12. At check of level of oil in automatic transmission also check an oil condition. For simplification of check of a condition of oil compare color, a smell and viscosity of oil to new oil.
If oil in transmission has dairy color, means, water got to it. It can occur at continuous operation of the car on short trips. If color of oil does not change after a long trip, it is necessary to replace oil. |
| 13. If oil has dark brown color and sticky, it can be because of an overheat of a transmission or too high level of oil in a box. If replacement of oil does not give result, it is necessary to present the car in a specialized workshop of AUDI.
If at check of level or oil replacement in an automatic box presence of particles of dirt or metal shaving comes to light, it is necessary to make diagnostics or repair of an automatic transmission at specialized service station AUDI. |

| 14. Suspend the tank with ATF of the demanded specification at a cowl. On an illustration the V.A.G 1924 tank and the diagnostic device for control of temperature of V.A.G 1551 is shown. |
| 15. Hook a screw-driver and remove a safety cap of a stopper (the shooter on an accompanying illustration). The cap is thus damaged and should be replaced with the new. It protects a place for a stopper. |
| 16. Remove a stopper from a jellied mouth. |
| 17. Establish the tank for filling of V.A.G 1924 oil and fill in ATF so that it left a control opening (the shooter on an accompanying illustration). |
| 18. Start the engine and, without getting under way from a place, switch the selector of a choice of modes. |
| 19. Tighten a stopper–1–with new laying by the moment of 15 N of m. |
| 20. Establish a stopper in a jellied mouth, put on a new safety cap–2–and fix it. |
ATTENTION Safety cap surely replace on new, it protects a stopper.

| 21. Switch off ignition and remove the diagnostic device if it joined. |
